Best of White House

Hey all, the time is here again to vote for our local paper "best of White House". Last year Jonathan won second place for best dentist. Of course I really don't need to mention that the first place winner had all of their patients fill out a ballot in office and they wore t-shirts that said vote for us.... Anyway for those that want to vote here is the website. Also, vote for Ella and Jude's preschool which won 1st place last year for best day care - WHCA Preschool! THANKS!!!http://www.checkyourwatch.com/bestofwhitehouse.php

Snow Day #2

Now this was a valid snow day. Of course it was all pretty much gone by noon but there was sufficient coverage and a short but good time was had by all. Phillip came over and took the three snowbunnies on a very quick sled ride. His hard work was short lived as everyone was cold after about 10 minutes. That was my goal though, I did not want to stay out long so I figured if they got cold they would not either...my plan was successful! We went to the McConnell's house and played, ate lunch and just generally wore ourselves out. Jude is the only one getting a nap though. Oh yeah, Ella picked out her winter accessories (in case you were wondering).

Valentine's Day

Ella and Jude both LOVE Valentine's Day and had a great time sharing valentines with friends. The day began with us running late becaues we took 3 dozen heartshaped doughnuts to school for their teachers to enjoy. Ella had a big party with heart shaped pizzas and Jude had a much lower key McDonald's fiesta with his friends. They both got more candy than at Halloween. After their naps at school they were off to Nana and Pepaw's for the weekend so that I could go to Winterfest and Jonathan could have a bachelor's weekend. Last night was the end of Valentine's Day. I let them go through their prizes one last time before trashing them when they went to bed! It was a great holiday for little people.

Snow Day

Before I forget all about last week I need to type it. We had a "mild" snow day on Wednesday. All that means is that it snowed - a little. This is very thrilling for our oldest child but no so much for the youngest who HATES to be cold. The little snow resulted in the same pictures as last year - Ella thrilled and Jude crying.

Also, the snow meant that Ella did not have school. She and Jude went to work with us where Ella and I created the ladybug masterpiece that was her Valentine box while Jude napped. I will also post pictures of that at a later time.

Meet our new baby

Ella and Jude are delighted to introduce their new baby brother OR sister due in early September. They made their big announcement in preschool chapel this week. The spokesperson (Ella) told everyone that SHE gets to dress it.

Chubby Snowman

Jude kept us very entertained over Christmas break with his Chubby Snowman song. I just took this video today. You will need the translation as follows:

There was a chubby snowman.
He had a carrot nose.
Along came a bunny, and what do you suppose?
The very hungry bunny was looking for some lunch.
He grabbed that snowman's carrot nose and
nibble nibble CRUNCH!

You've Got Mail

Ella and Jude were THRILLED to get their Valentine cards from Pops and Mimi today. They were so excited to find money, stickers and paper dolls. Thanks Pops and Mimi!!!!

If You Give A Pig A Party!!

Ella and Jude went to Nana and Pepaw's house last Thursday night. On Friday they had a very exciting day of going to see a play of If You Give a Pig a Party! They could not agree on the location for lunch so Pepaw decided a compromise of going to Chuck E Cheese to play (Jude's favorite) and eating lunch at Wendy's (not really Ella's favorite but not what Jude wanted so sounded good to her). I think all parties ended up being happy with the choice. They did get to see a little snow - so Jude says. Of course they had their milkshakes while they were there. They came home yesterday and both took a 3 hour nap. We also had to wake them up this morning at 7:45 which we NEVER, ever do! Needless to say I think they spent their weekend partying instead of sleeping.
