HALLOWEEN!!!!

Here are our pictures from Halloween. Our neighbors had a street party and the kids partied down. Jude and Lofton enjoyed hanging with the dj. The highlight was the chicken dance. My parents were here to enjoy the festivites but ended up holding down the fort while we were doin the chicken! The last picture I could not resist - Jonathan said Jude looked like a Chippendale Dancer....that is funny coming from Peter Pansy (that is what my dad called him).

Fall Parties

Jude and Ella partied down this week at school. They had their fall parties - you know kind - lots of sugar, a little paint and some great games! Jude played pin the nose on the pumpkin - he cheated and won, hunt the pumkin, decorated the pumpkin and dance party. Ella's class painted a pumpkin, played Who Stole Your Pumpkin? and something else I don't remember the name of. Ella got to party down Tuesday and Wednesday. They both had about a 10 min tooth brushing Tuesday night....

Trunk Or Treat

I picked out a Peter Pan outfit for Jonathan that passed inspection. I did make him a hat out of green felt and a red feather that I did not think was going to fly (get it fly)...anyway it did and he wore it. Here is our picture. In case you cannot figure it out, I am Wendy, Jude is Captain Hook, Ella is Tinkerbell and Jonathan is Peter Pan. Trunk or Treat was great but with the way Captain Hook likes to eat his costume is getting VERY dingy! One picture is of Ella, Abby, Riley and Ann in the back of the Rose vehicle being VERY genrous with the candy. The last picture is of Captian Hook trying to coax some caffeine out of the vending machine...

Ghouls at Grassmere

Tonight we hit the Zoo for Ghouls at Grassmere. We met our friend's Joni, Larry, Reesi (the good witch), Phillip, Lofton (Batman), Carmen and Landon (Robin) for the adventure. (Ella was Tinkerbell and Jude was Captain Hook). We rode the frightful carousel, took a hayride, did a little spooky dancin', LOTS of running - after the completion of 20 Bingo stamps and over 2 and a half hours later we got a Halloween flashlight! They had a great time and we got some pretty good pictures. Stay tuned for more adventures of Tinkerbell and Captain Hook as we are doing Trunk or Treat on Sunday night and the Big Night is Wednesday. Now if I can just talk Jonathan into being Peter Pan...

Circus Time

I went out of order here. The night before the soda fountain we went to the Shriner's circus with our friends Lofton and Reesi. The guys got out of it and went to watch a baseball game...We had a fun filled hour and a half of pony poopie and crazy mad clowns.

Soda Fountain

Ella, Jude and I took a trip on Monday to Thomas Drug in Cross Plains for lunch at the soda fountain. The kids just did it for the milkshake - me too... and it was good!

Weekend in KY

The kids spent the week in Kentucky but Marilyn, Audie, Jenna and I drove up in the down pour of rain on Thursday night. We toured the Woolridge Monuments and the rest of the graveyard. Ella and Jenna had their pictures made at the corner of Grace and Charity. We dined at Hill's twice in less than 24 hours and we hit the KY Oaks Mall. Ella also had her hair rolled - which stayed curly for about 10 mins!

I forgot about bowling!

Before we ever went to the pumpkin patch on Friday afternoon we took the kids bowling. Carmen and I took Lofton, Ella and Jude to entertain them for a couple of hours but as it turns out, Carmen and I were entertained. I took pictures on my phone because I left my camera at home. Oddly enough Jude ended up winning with the score of 63! He was the one that had no idea about winning or loosing but cheered evertime someone rolled it down. Even the balls that knocked down NO pins (hard to believe since there were gutter guards up but it happened) got a great big "good job" from Jude. Ella thinks that she won and Lofton cried that he didn't win... It was great!

Pumpkin Patch

We made the family trip to the Pumkpin Patch on Friday with our friends Carmen, Lofton and Landon. The kids had fun doing the hayride, hay maze, feeding goats, tractor races and of course snacking. They managed to pose for a couple of pictures along the way. (Ella looks really excited to be there in the last picture.)

Fall Fashion Show

Tonight we had a great fashion show at our house. We did discover that yes, people really are born as posers....at least Ella is. Jude had his own outfits but the camera did not come out until he wanted to walk to catwalk in one of Ella's dresses. He laughed the whole time but Ella was very serious....

Another lesson for young children: when we say don't flush the toilet, DON'T!

We were on time this morning. That in and of itself is very impressive in our household. However, things can change on a dime - especially if the declaration "we are actually early this morning" is uttered. Mysteriously our toilet became clogged this morning. Ella was the first to notice (even though Jonathan had left the bathroom mere minutes before). I told her to go tell her dad but DO NOT FLUSH IT. She told her dad and it was not really that important at that moment. She told him again - still not a real issue. Jude gets down from his highchair, goes into the bathroom and yes, flushes the toilet. Our bathroom floods with brown water. (You can thank me for not posting a picture.) Needless to say we were on time this morning but we were NOT early.

WHCA Fish Fry

Well, I took my camera but managed to not take one single picture there. Luckily one of the booths was a picture booth and I did have their picture made there so I should be getting it back very soon. Just imagine really, really hot adults with loads of children running around to various jumping, running or sliding activities. In the middle of it all trying to get them to slow down to eat some lunch (or give the adults a brief moment of seated peace). The boys did a great job on the fish and hushpuppies, coleslaw and hotdogs. It was really hot for them in the sun with hot grease though. We were all tired. It was fun though.

Eating with the Griffins

This is a typical evening in the Griffin household. Ella is pretty neat but we need to install a garbage disposal in our bathtub for Jude's after dinner clean up. We have to shake him out over the sink first then put him in the bath. Tonight Ella was very unhappy to be bathing with noodles.

Happy Birthday to Casey!

On Saturday night we helped Casey become one year older with the help of Marilyn, Audie, Jenna, Larry, Joni and Reesi. Jude had the honor of helping Mr. Casey blow out his birthday candles. Unfortunately for Jude, he did not get any cake because he had gotten into a candy bar earlier in the evening and eaten it all gone....
